You can choose from one of the tours listed below or customize your tour from the wineries listed. Within our fleet of Luxury Town Cars, Limousines, and Vans we can accommodate groups from 1 to 60. Please allow a minimum of 5 hours for each tour that will include 3 to 4 wineries. |

A History of Virginia Wine Making With a wine producing history spanning over four hundred years, Virginia today boast a wine industry that makes it the 5th largest wine producing state in the nation. Much credit goes to Thomas Jefferson’s love of fine wine and his cultivation of classic vinifera varieties at Monticello in the early 19th century. In spite of severe setbacks during the Civil War and Prohibition, wine production resumed in the 1970’s. Since that time Virginia has Experienced phenomenal success as makers have refined production techniques. The area around Charlottesville has proved to provide an ideal combination of climate and soil conditions, leading to a steady proliferation on viniculture and wineries. |
